IMDb charges subscription fees to our professional site IMDbPro. Our current prices are:
We take charge inquiries seriously and will be happy to work with you to resolve this issue. However, before contacting us, please consider the following common scenarios, in case this charge resulted from one of these situations:
Please also check the amount to see if it matches one of the subscription fees listed above -- this may help you identify the reason for the charge and the service to which you are subscribed.
We suggest you check with the other authorized users of the card. You can also check to see whether you have transaction receipts by clicking on Your Account > Receipt section of IMDbPro or the Your Account > Receipt section of IMDb Resume Services.
If the charge is not explained by any of these situations, please contact us.
Please be sure to include the following information:Every page on IMDbPro.com includes a Cancel link at the bottom (just scroll down and look at the blue footer bar). You can also go to Your Account information page and click on the Cancel link.
If you have trouble using the Cancel feature, just contact us and we'll do it for you (make sure you include enough details to let us identify your account and verify that you are the card holder.) Please note that the Cancel feature takes effect immediately: if you contact our help desk, the cancellation may be performed only after a day or two.
It's not a charge, just an authorization request.
When you sign up for a free trial on IMDbPro or update your credit card number on file with your subscription or use your credit card to authenticate your account to post in our message boards or access other editing features, we may contact your credit card's issuing bank to confirm that your credit card is a valid number, and has not been reported as lost or stolen. This is communicated via a $1.00 authorization.
However, we do not actually proceed with the charge. This is simply one of the security measures we use to protect our customers. No money is actually charged, and the authorization is automatically released by your credit card company after a short time.
It is not uncommon for a request for credit card authorization to fail once or twice before the card is finally authorized. We will notify you if we experience difficulties in authorizing your credit card.
You are always welcome to submit new credit card information to us for your subscription. To do this, visit Your Account and select the link to Update your credit card.
