There are still places available at the MOD Form 680 Seminar on 11 February 2016.

Following the success of the first event, held in February 2015, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) is holding a second seminar on the MOD Form 680 process.

Expert presentations will cover all aspects of MOD Form 680. The planned changes to the Form 680 process, which will be communicated to industry through a future Notice to Exporters, will also be covered in detail.

During the extended lunch break there will be a networking village, with stands and representatives from all areas of the export community.

The event will be held at the Westminster Conference Centre, 1 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0ET from 8.30am to 4pm. The cost per delegate is £75.00, which includes lunch and refreshments.

Notice to Exporters 2016/04: join the workshop on detailed designs for SPIRE replacement via conference call

The Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) is leading a project to create a cross-government digital platform for import and export licensing. This is intended to replace the current SPIRE system.

In a recent Notice to Exporters, we invited you to attend a workshop on 25 January to give your feedback and help to create a service that will provide the greatest benefit to industry.

This event is now full, but you can still participate via conference-call facilities for the main presentations and the initial Q&A. (Following this there will be breakout sessions for more detailed Q&A, which it will not be possible to join via phone.)

    • Email eco.help@bis.gsi.gov.uk to register your interest and receive further details.
    • Put ‘Conference call on detailed designs for SPIRE replacement, Monday 25 January’ in the subject line of your email.

Notice to Exporters 2015/27: MOD Form 680 seminar scheduled for February 11

The Export Control Organization had so much success with its last seminar on the MOD (Ministry of Defence) Form 680 and the assocated process, they've decided to give it a second go. This one will be held on February 11th, 2016, at the Westminster Conference Centre (1 Victoria Street, London), and will cost 75 GBP per attendee. The seminar, which will run from 8:30 AM until 4 PM, will include lunch and refreshments.

October 22, 2015: HK SFC Circular announces 3 1/2 AML/CFT seminars

Anti-Money Laundering / Counter-Terrorist Financing

Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Seminars

The SFC will host three half-day anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”) seminars on 18, 24 and 30 November 2015 respectively. The seminars will be held at the Lecture Theatre, G/F, Hong Kong Central Library, Causeway Bay.

Objectives & Rundown

The objectives of the seminars are-

    • To provide updates on AML/CFT regulatory developments; and
    • To promote and enhance the understanding of the application of risk-based approach to AML/CFT measures, and carrying out of risk assessment and proportionate customer due diligence and transaction monitoring.

Please refer to Appendix 1 for rundown and speakers of the seminars.

Who should attend

You are invited to nominate relevant management / supervisory personnel and compliance officers to attend. The seminar is free of charge and 3 CPT hours will be offered to those who attend the whole session.

Enrolment

Each firm should only submit one enrolment form. Please complete and return the attached enrolment form (Appendix 2) on or before 4 November 2015 by fax at 2293 4087 or email at aml_seminar@sfc.hk.

Enrolments are subject to a maximum of 2 places per firm. As seats are limited, we will attempt to allocate the nominees listed as first priority in all enrolment forms received by the deadline on a first come first served basis. Any remaining seats will be allocated to the other nominees and if possible, according to their time of preference.

The SFC will send the confirmation slip by email and / or fax directly to successful applicants at least two days before the seminar. Please present your confirmation slip for admission at the venue.

HKMA to hold 2 money laundering seminars in May

Anti-Money Laundering Seminars 2015

I am writing to inform you that the HKMA will host anti-money laundering seminarson 3 and 5 November 2015. The purpose of the seminars is to provide authorizedinstitutions (AIs) with the latest regulatory developments on anti-money launderingand counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT) and the supervisory expectations onassessment of money laundering and terrorist financing risks.

Speakers will be from the HKMA and the industry. Compliance Officers, MoneyLaundering Reporting Officers or other managing staff with the responsibility toimplement AML/CFT systems should attend the seminars. Each AI may nominateup to two representatives for the two seminars. Details of the seminars andregistration form are attached. On the road again…
