OCC Hosts Compliance and Credit Risk Workshops in St. Louis

WASHINGTON — The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency will host two workshops in St. Louis at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark, November 17-18, for directors of national community banks and federal savings associations.

The Compliance Risk workshop on November 17 combines lectures, discussion, and exercises on the critical elements of an effective compliance risk management program. The workshop also focuses on major compliance risks and critical regulations. Topics of discussion include the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Qualified Mortgage Regulations. The instructors will also touch on the new Truth-in-Lending (TILA) and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act of 1974 (RESPA) Integrated Disclosures Rule, also known as TRID.

Revised and updated for 2015, the Credit Risk workshop on November 18 focuses on credit risk within the loan portfolio, such as identifying trends and recognizing problems. The workshop also covers the roles of the board and management, how to stay informed of changes in credit risk, and how to effect change.

The workshop fee is $99. Participants receive a pre-workshop reading package and course materials, and assorted supervisory publications. The workshop is limited to the first 35 registrants.

The workshops are taught by experienced OCC staff and are two of the 35 offered nationwide to enhance and expand the skills of national community bank and federal savings association directors. For information, including a complete list of available workshops, or to register for a workshop, visit http://www.seiservices.com/occ or call (240) 485-1700.

Offered by Compliance Week – and it's free!:

Supply Chain Market Access Requirements: Conforming to Conflict Minerals Initiatives and Other Emerging Demands for Transparency

This webcast is free to attend and is now on demand.

Webcast Description:

Product compliance is no longer a function satisfied by a one-time vendor qualification event or a static set of values. Accountable sourcing – heavily weighted towards promoting humane conditions, discouraging corruption, and promoting sustainability – is becoming codified into law, recognized as industry standards and mandated in organizational codes of conduct.

From the Dodd-Frank Act to Europe’s Responsible Sourcing Regulation, join us for an in-depth review of conflict minerals compliance requirements, and an exploration of how leading-edge supply chain product compliance platforms and tools can help meet these requirements while also reducing risk.
