The Sigma 20mm F1.4 DG HSM | A is the newest member of Sigma's family of 'Art' lenses. It's also the widest member of the Art lens family, and with a maximum aperture of F1.4 Sigma claims that it's the fastest 20mm lens in the world. We shot this lens on both 5DS R and 7D Mark II bodies, and since we had an EOS mount we even tried it on the Sony A7R II as well. How did it do? Take a look
Our Fujifilm X-Pro2 First Impressions just got a significant update. With a production-ready camera in hand, we've been able to send it through our studio tests, make some judgements about image quality from its new 24MP X-Trans image sensor and put together a fresh sample gallery. Read more
We've got our hands on preproduction versions of Fujifilm's X-Pro2 and X70 and have put together a sample gallery for each. Keeping in mind that these are 'beta' cameras, have a look at some photos from both Seattle and Japan. Take a look
Winter can be a stark wonderland in the Pacific Northwest, especially east of the Cascade mountain range. Editor Barney Britton spent some time with the new Nikon 24-70 F2.8 ED VR lens amongst the snow-covered rolling hills, waterfalls, forests, and even sunny beaches our beautiful state provides. See how the lens performed in this set of real-world samples. Read more
Olympus just squeezed a 600mm equivalent field of view into a 1.27kg (2.8 pound) lens, complete with image stabilization, weatherproofing and an impressive close focusing distance. Recently, the streets of Seattle were filled with revelers dressed as Santa Claus drunk on (at the very least) plenty of holiday cheer. We took the opportunity to give Sony's Cyber-shot RX1R II a merry shooting session, with the aim of stress testing its 399-point PDAF system. Read more
Back in October we reported on the Mitakon Speedmaster 135mm F1.4 - a massive, heavy but beautiful lens, which will be available soon in a very limited manufacturing run of only 100 samples. We were lucky enough to be able to use a prototype recently, and we've spent some time take shots with this weird and quite wonderful lens in our studio and out in the real world. Read more

Fujifilm's XF 35mm F2 strikes an appealing balance between size, cost and durability. It's sealed against moisture and dust, making it a great candidate for use with the weather-resistant X-T1, and at $399 is a fairly affordable 'normal' prime for Fuji's X-system. The Pacific Northwest is just the place to test weather-resistant gear, though thankfully we've had enough unseasonably dry and sunny days to put together a real-world sample gallery with the 35mm F2. Canon's new EF 35mm F1.4L USM II lens has some pretty big shoes to fill. Its older brother, now on the market for 17 years, has become both a benchmark and a staple of many a pro Canon shooter's kit. We've had the Mark II version for a few days, and we've spent that time shooting some environmental portraits, landscapes and lots more in between. Read more
As far as advanced fixed-lens compacts go, it doesn't get much more enticing than the Sony RX1R II. Like its predecessor, it couples a full-frame sensor with a fast, wide-angle prime, but this time it's equipped with a 42.2MP chip to complement its 35mm F2 lens. We were pretty darn excited to get outdoors with the RX1R II and see what it can do. Read more

With early access to a full production SL, we've been able to test it against our studio test scene as well as in a variety of real-world shooting conditions. Read more
Earlier this year Nikon expanded a series of F1.8 primes with the 24mm F1.8G ED, sitting alongside 20mm and 35mm models. Up to now we've only had access to pre-production models, but that changed this week. Read more

With all of the appeal and high-end touches offered by Sigma's 'Art' series, the 24-35mm just begs to be taken out for a spin - and DPReview's Deputy Editor Rishi Sanyal did just that. See what the camera's capable of in the real world. See gallery
Last night the Northern Lights tip-toed farther south than they usually do, and many regions of North America not accustomed to seeing them were treated to a light show. In hopes of catching it we hopped in the car with the Canon EOS 5DSR and headed away from the city lights. We've got a couple of aurora shots to share as well as a selection of others taken with a final 5DS R camera. See gallery
