No, he comfirmed that Marvel does everything differently when adapting from the books. Meaning If Cap dies, it wont be by Crossbones most likely or else it wouldn't be a surprise to the audience since that's what everyone is expecting to happen
well capt America can't die permanently....i'm guessing they may adapt it so it looks like he dies...while he disappears for awhile..in the books..winter soldier ..bucky took over as cap....right now falcon is capt America..but i'm not a big falcon fan.....bucky was better....so i'm thinking that when they do the infinity gauntlet..infinity wars story...it's going to be a massive story

Hate to be that guy, but Brubaker didn't create Crossbones. He goes back to the late 80's when Mark Gruenwald was writing the book (Cap)
