NBCA Golf HBCU Classic Tournament Tees Off

Benedict College was founded in 1870 in Columbia, South Carolina. It was originally a teacher’s college. Students attending Benedict College have the opportunity to earn four-year, liberal arts degree from 30 different disciplines.  Encouraging small business ownership, and business improvement, among African-Americans, is the goal of the Business and Economic Development Program. The athletics department of Benedict also takes pride in its golf team. Benedict finished 6th in the PGA National Minority Golf Championship. They  won the 2015 SIAC Men’s Golf Championship by 29 strokes.

Fayetteville State University is located  in Fayetteville North Carolina and was establshed in 1867.  The Fayetteville State University men’s golf team placed fifth overall at the 2015 PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championships held May 8-10 at the PGA Golf Club. The Broncos shot a combined 647 (317-330) during the two-round event. Jared Chinn shot a team low 149 in the Broncos fifth place finish at the PGA Minority Championships.

Fisk University is a historically black university founded in 1866 in Nashville, Tennessee. Fisk University’s ranking in the 2015 edition of Best Colleges is National Liberal Arts Colleges is 165. Fisk University Athletics offers nine sports including Golf, that provides its student athletes with a positive environment in which to learn, live, compete and practice.
