Revisiting Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman

22 hours ago | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Carley Tauchert Mar 15, 2017

Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman was silly, joyful fun. We take a fond look back at the 1990s series...

A flash of red cape, the S sitting proudly on the chest, the warrior of Truth, Justice and the American Way, Superman has always been the most recognisable and iconic of all the superheroes. After many changes on-screen over the years from the All-American hero in the 1978 movie to the recent darker and moodier version, you'd be hard pressed to go anywhere on the planet and find somebody who had never heard of the Man of Steel.

The character has had many faces and been in many decades and settings, but one of the best that deserves a bit more love and a lot more praise is that of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman, a »

Supergirl Season 2B Gallery 1 of 84

We’ve known for a while now that DC superfan Kevin Smith would direct his second episode of Supergirl this season, which is arriving a little sooner than expected. Even so, we doubt many of you out there will complain.

In “Distant Sun,” it appears that life will become exceedingly difficult for Kara Zor-El as she comes within reaching distance of the season finale. Keep in mind that one episode will precede this that will not only serve as a prologue to the musical crossover with The Flash, but also lets us in on the truth behind Mon-El. In short, expect a lot to happen within that hour of television.

When Smith’s next episode does get here, it will apparently see Kara attempting to evade aliens who are trying to collect a bounty on her. »

Supergirl Round Table: Stupid is as Stupid Does

Jobs were in turmoil on Supergirl Season 2 Episode 15 when Kara was fired and Alex was suspended.

Alex has been reinstated, but what does Kara losing her job mean for the future of CatCo?

Below, TV Fanatics Steven Ford, Jim Garner, Kathleen Wiedel, and Yana Grebenyuk tackle that question as well as Alex's solo mission, and a certain upcoming musical crossover.

Join us!

React to Kara being fired. Did she deserve it? Is the show moving away from CatCo?

Steve: I can understand Kara wanting to inform National City of Cadmus' plans, but rules are rules and as Snapper said, they are there for a reason. Kara running with info like that without Snapper knowing the sources, let alone them being credible or not, was a risky move.

It's unfortunate because Snapper probably really was pulling for Kara, as he saw so much potential in her as a reporter.

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 15 Review: Exodus

6 March 2017 7:31 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Who needs Supergirl when we have Alex

When I called her behavior "temporary insanity," I may have misjudged how "temporary" it was.

She completely lost her mind on Supergirl Season 2 Episode 15, but damn if it wasn't awesome.

First of all, her impulse control went completely out the window. I watched her beat the ever loving crap out of that guy three times. Chyler Leigh must have had a blast shooting that scene.

But then deciding to go completely rogue and walk into the lion's den solo? It could not have been more reckless, but let's be honest, it was also pretty badass.

Maggie should have insisted on going with her. It's understandable that she wanted to show her support when J'onn and Kara were against her, but still, she needed some backup.

Or, maybe not, since you know, she came armed with explosives.

That's not insane at all...

J'onn's trick was cruel. »

Alex really could have used that memo before Monday’s Supergirl, during which J’onn tested her loyalty by disguising himself as Jeremiah and successfully wooing her to the dark side. Synopses For The Flash/Supergirl Crossover Revealed

3 March 2017 10:32 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

In just a matter of weeks, The CW will see its second major DC TV crossover this season, albeit involving two of the major players in Supergirl and The Flash as part of a musical extravaganza. Now, thanks to some recently released synopses, we know much more about what the plot will entail.

Let’s begin with Supergirl, which will kickoff things on Monday, March 20 with “Star-Crossed.” Unfortunately, this installment looks to be more of its own thing, as was the case with the series’ part in last fall’s four-show crossover. Therefore, we fully expect no spillover until the closing minutes.

Still, there will be much to look forward to, as this episode will contain the highly anticipated debut of Teri Hatcher, who will serve as the big bad for the remainder of the season. So, even if you’re disappointed by not hearing any jazzy tunes, you do »

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 14 Review – ‘Homecoming’

1 March 2017 3:00 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Martin Carr reviews the fourteenth episode of Supergirl season 2…

And so we find ourselves coming full circle with the return of Dean Cain to Supergirl as Jeremiah Danvers. Slightly long in the tooth, a little more portly around the midriff, but nonetheless a face which relaunched Superman for me along with Teri Hatcher some time ago.

Glimpsed fleetingly in early episodes as a hostage of the illusive Cadmus, Cain has been nothing more than a father figure seen in flashback and impactful in narrative terms only until now. Welcomed back into the family unit like a hero after enforced isolation, Cain plays wholesome patriarch embracing one and all ingratiating himself in minutes. After one day he has free rein within the confines of the Deo and soon after things go pear-shaped.

You see the issue is not so much his arrival, rescue, whatever, it’s the sense that Jeremiah is playing with a loaded deck. »

A Dean Cain-Teri Hatcher Reunion On Supergirl Is A Very Real Possibility

26 February 2017 12:33 PM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

There’s one thing that’s become apparent to me over the years: Once you’ve played an iconic DC character, you may very well find yourself employed for life. In fact, Supergirl is a fine example of this. Kara’s adoptive parents are played by none than Dean Cain and Helen Slater, who previously inhabited the roles of Superman and Supergirl, respectively. Aside from that, not too long ago it was revealed that yet another fan favorite will have the chance to run with the torch again when Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman alumnus Teri Hatcher was announced as having been cast in a mysterious villainous role.

Now, we can probably all agree that it would be somewhat of a letdown if Cain and Hatcher were unable to have an onscreen reunion, even if for only one episode. And although the former is confirmed to return to the show this Monday, »

New Supergirl Images Capture Dean Cain’s Return

See Full Gallery Here

From what we can tell, next Monday’s instalment of Supergirl, the appropriately titled “Homecoming,” is something the series has been building to since its earliest of episodes. After all, Dean Cain’s Jeremiah Danvers has inarguably been a very key character, regardless of the fact that he pops up sporadically.

While the images seen at the top paint a most jovial picture and show this to be a joyous occasion for the Danvers family, the trailer leads us to believe otherwise. It stands to reason that after being in the clutches of the sinister Cadmus organization for so long that Jeremiah would’ve undergone some Re-Neducation as it were. Therefore, I’m half-expecting to see him betray his most beloved.

No matter the outcome of this episode, I do hope that Cain is available to come back later in the season knowing that his former »

Metallo And Lillian Luthor Confound Supergirl In New Clip

13 February 2017 10:59 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

With mere hours to go until a brand new episode of Supergirl is set to air, the network has put out a teaser clip showing the Maiden of Might confronted by returning foes in Metallo and Lillian Luthor.

Now, we’ve known for a little bit that the Luthor matriarch would be putting in another appearance and that the Cadmus threat isn’t totally behind us, but given the recent knowledge that Lena is behind bars for some reason, it looks as though this footage takes place after some kind of jailhouse switcheroo.

Personally, I’m interested to see if the Cadmus arc will be wrapped up in this episode or sometime soon because a larger threat is seemingly looming involving that mysterious alien race that has been popping up lately. And, from what we can gather, it will have everything to do with the recently cast Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo, »
