Is the world moving too fast for Fuji now?

Now I am really, really interested in Fuji's next sensor policy after I read what I thought was a typo, that the D500 has expandable ISO up to 1.640.000. The new D5 goes up to 3.280.000.

I have an interest in the latest D500 offerings as it will possibly have some impact on people's expectations with regards to what is possible re APS-C sensor size.

The D7200 sports a 24Mpx Toshiba, 14.6 EV dynamic range, the D500 a 20Mpx "only" - so maybe it would be fair to assume, that the dynamic range is not less than the D7200's? Who knows.

So in my book to still find a dynamic range of 11-12 EV, would be disappointing as would be another RAW file ISO limitation to 6400.

Interesting times allright... ISO 1.640.000 - admittedly in extended mode, but nevertheless - on an APS-C sensor?
