The J5 has a more advanced focus system than the GM1. It has phase detection AF points, is faster to focus, and has much faster burst rate with continuous auto focus (20 fps compared to 4 fps)....

Well on the comparometer the J5 is a huge improvement over V3 at ISO 800 and higher. Maybe not big enough for you, but it is a big improvement.
