The Buzz: Now that opening week is here (and we're writing this on the day of The Force Awakens' world premiere), what we're looking forward to most are all the theories that will look to interconnect the rest of this new Star Wars trilogy as well as the standalone movies. We're also wondering if there will be any glimpse of Episode VIII's characters - namely Benicio Del Toro, who is shaping up to be the villain in the next installment, which is currently filming with director Rian Johnson.

Certificate R   -   Comedy

Metascore: 58/100 (33 reviews)
Two sisters decide to throw one last house party before their parents sell their family home.

The Buzz: It's hard to imagine Amy Poehler and Tina Fey surpassing the level of humor they achieved with their three stints as Golden Globes co-hosts; fortunately, with the movie Sisters, looks lower brow in the best way. What we hope for here is total re-watchability and an unrated cut.

Certificate PG   -   Animation | Adventure | Comedy | Family | Fantasy | Music

Metascore: 34/100 (18 reviews)
Through a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore come to believe that Dave is going to propose to his new girlfriend in Miami...and dump them. They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves not only from losing Dave but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother.

The Buzz: As long as Alvin and co. continue to make over $300 million at the worldwide box office, 20th Century Fox will keep making these movies - a total of four have been made if you stopped keeping track. It's also the best guarantee we have of seeing Jason Lee on the big screen these days.

Certificate R   -   Drama | Horror | Thriller | War

Metascore: 89/100 (26 reviews)
In the horror of 1944 Auschwitz, a prisoner forced to burn the corpses of his own people finds moral survival upon trying to salvage from the flames the body of a boy he takes for his son.

The Buzz: Director László Nemes gives an insightful interview and we're even more interested in seeing his Cannes-winning first feature after reading about his "no beautiful shots" approach to making this story.

  -   Thriller

The trials and tribulations of Dany Dorméus.

The Buzz: Novels by Sébastien Japrisot tend to make for good movies (One Deadly Summer) and this is the latest take on his oft-adapted La dame dans l'auto avec des lunettes et un fusil. The popularity of Japrisot's work, combined with a recognizable cast that includes Stacy Martin from Lars Von Trier's Nymphomaniac, could help this French import stand out in the crowded holiday movie calendar.

  -   Documentary

Metascore: 50/100 (5 reviews)
After winning a Best Restaurant In The World award in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014, chef Rene Redzepi discusses his Copenhagen restaurant Noma and how his culinary philosophy has shaped its success.

The Buzz: This documentary is part immigrant tale (chef Redzepi left Macedonia for Denmark) and part meditation on striving for perfection in one's chosen career. If you don't follow the restaurant scene, you might be interested in discovering what happen at Noma in early 2013.

Certificate R   -   Thriller

Metascore: 32/100 (5 reviews)
A former CIA operative is kidnapped by a group of terrorists. When his son learns there is no plan for his father to be saved, he launches his own rescue operation.

The Buzz: Extraction isn't hiding its lower-budget roots, and Bruce Willis, Gina Carano, and Kellan Lutz all seem to know that they're in a B movie as they sell the action with a wink to the camera. The thing is: This movie is probably more satisfying/less disappointing that A Good Day to Die Hard, and Kellan Lutz seems more comfortable playing Willis' son than Jai Courtney did.
