Message Boards now even worse
Yet another update:
Checked in to deduct another star based on the latest update. Don't get me wrong, I basically like the app – much more than the (desktop) web version – but the message board support in this version went from bad to worse.
Not only is it a pain to post messages, it's now harder to read them. The first entry in the message thread list is now partially obscured by the toolbar at the top of the screen. When I try to pull the item into view, it bounces back out of sight when I release it. (I'm using an iPhone 5s running iOS 9.)
Fortunately, there's enough showing so that it can be tapped on to display the thread, but the message board UI and features are certainly not going to win any awards.
Previously:
In addition to my earlier complaints about the Message Boards, I'm finding it difficult just to enter a message. If the text length exceeds the size of the input box, I'm not able to scroll back to review or edit the previously entered text: pulling on the cursor near the top edge of the box does nothing, nor does grabbing the selection handle to extend it past the visible text, and there's no scroll bar.
[Earlier complaints were here… it's not like they've been resolved, I'm just tired of reposting them. Suffice it to say an otherwise good app is ruined by the awful message board implementation.]
Does What I Want It To Do
Works fine for looking up information. Even when away from wifi, data loads quickly. Took me a few minutes to figure out how to navigate through the app, but it's pretty user friendly. I probably use it at least once a day. I like it just fine.
Won't Open - fixed
Current version won't open. Uninstalled and restarted iPad. Now app won't even install. FRUSTRATED.
Update - Spent day researching web and trying lots of things. Got the app to download & open after MULTIPLE reboots/resets (at least three). Note was able to download other apps and did not have songs or podcasts waiting to download. IMDB forums blamed Apple - but suspect both share blame.
