Because of this, questions about the structure of our educational institutions and how they interact with our moral institutions are often the most contentious. How do we pass on our morals and beliefs while allowing for religious freedom and unbiased learning? Does God belong in school? How do institutions of higher learning—our colleges and universities—balance an academic standard with our traditions?

As students head off to school what are the major ethical and moral concerns they will face in their day? Does religion serve us in our educational pursuits? Here Patheos evaluates the intersection of scholarship and belief.
