http://www.lhbowl.com/ This watering hole is attached to a legendary bowling spot. Home to the first bowler to role a perfect 900 game, Glen Allison, the 13th Frame hosts weekly karaoke nights accompanied by stiff drinks from the full bar or the bottled beer selection, perfect for lowering inhibitions. A small selection of brews are now available on tap and include Sierra Nevada, Blue Moon, Budwesier and Stella. Named the Weekly's Best Dive Bar Attached to a Bowling Alley in 2010, this place has charm to spare, including wise bartenders and the look of an alpine ski lodge. Have a quiet drink and roll a loud rock. Read more about 13th Frame Lounge >>
http://www.2jslounge.com/ Part sports bar, part lounge, 2J's refers to itself as "the swankiest dive in OC." At first blush, the crimson lighting, mini chandeliers and candlelight seem at odds with the pool tables, dartboard, and football paraphernalia. But, somehow, it all combines to make for a unique place to have a drink. Take up a post in one of the plush booths while drinking a very cold one (the bottles literally have frost on them) or grab a cocktail from the full bar. The Jukebox rocks a good mix of classic and modern rock— a good soundtrack for playing a game of pool on one of three tables. Nightly entertainment varies from DJs to rock bands. http://www.2ndfloorhb.com Imagine Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas spliced with an episode of LA Ink: 2nd Floor may be the most macabre, Gothic tattoo-inspired art gallery/restaurant above a surf shop found anywhere, but especially in Huntington Beach. The art showcased on every inch of wall space revels in Dia de Los Muertos imagery, replete with coffins and skeletons. The rest of the gorgeous paintings celebrate the female form, often as exaggerated, hyper-sexualized cartoon creatures with prominent breasts. But if 2nd Floor is anything, it is a bar of the same ilk as any on Main Street, with the requisite supply of LCD TVs perennially tuned to sports. The chef hired to devise the menu was previously with the House of Blues and also managed food services at Arrowhead Pond. As such, you should not expect to see her cooking your burgers in the open kitchen. The crew that operates there under her direction does so with the urgency of short-order cooks. The food produced is on par with what you expect from bar food. Read more about 2nd Floor >>
http://www.3thirty3nb.com Part eclectic upscale eatery, part snazzy bar/social hot spot, this well-appointed room packs in famished foodies and prowling cougars alike. The Thai calamari served with aioli dipping sauce is a favorite, as are the stiff drinks and sinfully sweet desserts. There is also live entertainment Sunday's from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Read more about 3 Thirty 3 Waterfront >>

http://616 Club (616 E. 4th St.) The 616 Club is bare bones, even by dive-bar standards, but it serves its purpose. Small and dimly lit with a small bar in the center of the room, the club serves a half-dozen bottled beers and even fewer types of liquor. The wood-lined walls are adorned witth few decorations save for Bud Light posters featuring scantily clad women holding soccer balls. Most of the room's illumination comes from the lights hanging over 616's two billiard tables and from the jukebox, which features mostly Spanish rock and mariachi music. Read more about 616 Club >>
http://Acapulco Inn (5283 E. 2nd St.) It may be located in Long Beach's trendy Belmont Shore, but the Acapulco Inn is anything but high-falutin. Instead of ritzy, vintage photos of the Long Beach harbor, the walls are bedecked with the banners of various college football teams. The rowdy voices echoing across the large, cement-floored room indicate patrons don't appreciate fancy accouterments. Serving beer only, several taps are line up in a neat row behind the bar. Labels include: Shock Top, Blue Moon, Bud Light and Deschutes. The Acapulco also offers several distractions in the form of two pool tables, shuffle board, six flat-screen TV's and the video game Big Buck. Read more about Acapulco Inn >>

http://www.akbarsilverlake.com Silver Lake's Moroccan-themed gay grotto is a long-running fave, as much for its stiff, reasonably priced drinks as for its vivacious, open-to-all atmosphere. When the adjacent dance room was added a few years ago, it became a full-fledged club. The dark and sweaty pit pumps and pulsates on weekends thanks to dynamic electro/disco mixes from local DJs. Expect a bevy of boho bi and gay grinders in the mix mostly on weekends, and local of all ilks during the week - even crafters (!), who take over with an early gathering every Wednesday. Not to be confused with the vibrantly pink truck parked outside a Santa Ana supermarket, this dance and live-music club specializes in banda and rock en español; the "grill" part of the name refers mostly to the appetizers provided with bottle service. http://www.allstarlanesbowling.com All Star Lanes is an iconic Eagle Rock bowling alley, located on Eagle Rock Boulevard. The spacious mid-century interior doesn't look like it's been updated since the day it opened, but it holds 22 lanes for all levels of rollers, plus a bar in the back to keep things lively. There are pool tables and arcade games for the kids, plus the best glow-in-the-dark bowling you'll find anywhere. Lanes run $4/game on weeknights and $6 on weekends, but the cheap drinks ensure you won't end up spending too much. There's also an occasional free comedy show held near the bar, called the 4 & 20 show, which features some of the best comedians working in L.A. today. Read more about All Star Lanes >>

http://www.knottshotel.com/dining/index.htm Amber Waves is located in the Knott's Berry Farm Resort Hotel and looks like the type of bar Stuart Anderson (of Black Angus fame) might have envisioned. Featuring rich wood tables and walls emblazoned with stars and stripes, flagstone rock pillars and wonky, sculpture-esque chandeliers dangling above the taps, Amber Waves feels like a post-modern Wild West saloon. The bar serves a respectable selection of draft beers, including Stella, Pyramid Hef, Blue Moon and Shock Top in addition to a full complement of liquors and an impressive selection of wines. Conveniently located next to the park, it makes for a great spot to soothe jangled nerves following a turn on the wooden coaster Ghost Rider. Read more about Amber Waves >>

http://www.anchos.net Our food is so mouth-watering good, that many of our guests regularly drive from five different counties just to be treated to a night at Anchos. We even have customers who have moved to different states and they make a point of coming back to Anchos whenever they visit the Southern California area. And some of our locals even eat here several times a week. Read more about Anchos Southwest Grill & Bar >>
