U.S. appeals court rejects challenge to California death penalty

SAN FRANCISCO - A U.S. appeals court on Thursday unanimously rejected a constitutional challenge to the death penalty in California, overturning a lower court ruling that had found the system too arbitrary.  Full Article

Law clerk in trading fraud involving chewed napkins pleads guilty

A former clerk at a prestigious New York law firm became the third and final defendant to plead guilty in an insider trading scheme in which an accomplice ate evidence written on napkins to conceal the fraud, federal prosecutors said.  Full Article
