San Francisco 49ers running back Reggie Bush suffered a knee injury after slipping on concrete on the sidelines against the St. Louis Rams in Week 8. He has been placed on the IR and is reportedly expected to undergo surgery.

The 49ers announced the season-ending move and also noted they have signed running back Pierre Thomas.

Bush Reportedly Tore MCL

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Bush will have season-ending surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn MCL ligament, although his ACL was not damaged. 

Meanwhile, head coach Jim Tomsula announced the results of Bush's MRI taken Monday are not known yet, per Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.

Bush Comments on Injury

"I'm not angry that it happened," Bush said, per Taylor Price of 49ers.com. "It is what it is. Everybody else has played on it, so you can't be mad about it now."

Bush's Injury Further Depletes 49ers' RB Depth

The 49ers signed Bush in the offseason to share touches with promising second-year player Carlos Hyde. Unfortunately, Bush suffered a strained calf in Week 1's win over the Minnesota Vikings and watched Hyde assert himself as a legitimate feature back. Bush received his first start in a 49ers uniform this week because Hyde was out due to an injury. 

Rookie fourth-round pick Mike Davis also injured his hand and will undergo surgery. If San Francisco is unable to get Hyde or Davis back after the Week 9 bye, it puts additional pressure on the run game.
