Lakehurst Small Business Roundtable Industry Day 15 October 2015 September 21, 2015

Locating future bidding opportunities can be difficult. Finding comprehensive information about those opportunities can be overwhelming! The Lakehurst Small Business Roundtable (LKE-SBR) will be holding a General Membership Meeting on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Ocean County Library, Toms River Branch. This will be a LKE-SBR Sponsored Industry Day. The LKE-SBR has invited NAWCAD, LKE to participate in this Event for Market Research purposes as it applies to the NAVAIR Long Range Acquisition Forecast (LRAF) covering FY16 through FY18 recently posted at http://www.navair.navy.mil/osbp/ . Several Large Businesses including Booz Allen Hamilton and Lockheed Martin have also been invited to participate. Topics will include sub-contracting. The focus of the LKE-SBR is for Government and industry to collaborate to enhance small business participation in Naval aviation contracts and provide a forum to address small business issues and concerns. To facilitate two-way conversation between small businesses and the Government, General Membership Meetings include an "open mic" session allowing membership to discuss with the Government and other small business members ideas for improving the relationship between Government and industry. These discussions may take the form of describing challenges from the small business viewpoint but also could include suggestions to making the relationship work better. LKE-SBR General Membership is open to any company registered with SAM as a small business, which has conducted, is conducting, or plans to conduct business with Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) or Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) as a prime contractor or subcontractor. The October General Membership Meeting is open to any small business interested in doing business at Lakehurst, as well as to large businesses interested in prospective small business sub-contractors. This Event is free, however Pre-registration for this Event is required. A detailed agenda will be available prior to the Event. This Event is closed to the press.

Save the Date - ONR FOCUS AREA FORUM: POWER AND ENERGY - 29 OCT 15 September 8, 2015

The Office of Naval Research (ONR) will host its fifth Focus Area Forum on October 29. Join ONR leadership, including Chief of Naval Research Rear Adm. Mat Winter, as we highlight Power and Energy (P&E;) and address major P&E; science and technology challenges facing the Navy and Marine Corps today and in the future. This forum will address Power and Energy (P&E;). The highlight of the forum will be a keynote address by the Hon Mr. Dennis V. McGinn (Assistant Secretary of the Navy - Energy, Installations & Environment) and a discussion on a major Science and Technology (S&T;) challenge facing the Navy today and in the future: the emergence of high-power-demand weapons, sensors, & combat systems, and their impact on current and future surface combatant electrical architectures. The objective of the Focus Area Forum is to communicate the Navy's overall S&T; P&E; portfolio, identify key challenges & opportunities for the future, and engage with industry/academia on the future P&E; challenge for Navy surface combatants. Attendance will be limited to Department of Defense and US DoD contractors only. Attendance will be further limited to US citizens and US permanent residents. ADVANCE PLANNING NOTICE PMA-299 H-60 MODS Integration Support - Revised September 1, 2015

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), has a requirement for Modification of Equipment: Aircraft Components and Accessories Support Services for PMA-299. The scope of this effort is to provide the H-60 Fleet Support Team of the In-Service Support Center (ISSC) located at Fleet Readiness Center East, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, North Carolina provide new updated/technically advanced systems to aircraft which did not exist when they were fielded. Some retrofit kits will be fabricated by the contractor and some Retrofit kits will be provided as Government Furnished Equipment(GFE). Avionics Vulnerability Assessment Mitigation and Protection (AVAMP) May 27, 2015

The Avionics Vulnerability Mitigation branch (AFRL/RYWA) in the Sensors Directorate conducts basic and applied research and advanced development to understand and improve cyber security of U.S. Air Force platforms and weapon systems operating in contested cyber domain. The activity involves understanding the threat to legacy and future weapon systems, discovering, characterizing, and mitigating cyber vulnerabilities and developing protections against cyber-attack to provide fight-through capability. The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) solicits innovative research proposals to address these needs and to integrate, test, and evaluate developed technologies into the AFRL AVAMP embedded system cyber research platform. Performers under this activity will advance the state-of-the-art in embedded system cyber security offering novel and innovative approaches to understand and defeat advanced cyber threats and protect our systems so they operate as intended and provide mission assurance to the commander.
