Two hugely entertaining English-language Cannes contenders starring Rachel Weisz lead the field of European Film Awards nominees with five nominations each: Paolo Sorrentino's "Youth" (Fox Searchlight), starring Michael Caine and Harvey Keitel, which has been a relatively quiet festival contender, and "The Lobster" (Alchemy), Yorgos Lanthimos's black comedy starring Colin Farrell. Both films should get a nice boost with Academy voters, along with several foreign language Oscar contenders, including "Rams," "Mustang," and "A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting Existence," plus documentary Oscar frontrunners "Amy" and "The Look of Silence."
