Arnold Schwarzenegger Blasts Indiana's Anti-Gay Law

3 April 2015 3:20 PM, PDT

Indiana's religious freedom law just got a very powerful new enemy: the "Governator" himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The former California Governor - an outspoken Republican - expressed his anger and disappointment over what he sees as his party's discriminatory agenda in an op-ed for the Washington Post. Schwarzenegger is referring to the controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act, signed into Indiana law on Thursday by Republican Governor Mike Pence. Those who oppose the See more »

Spectre is a Fun, Fine End to Daniel Craig's Postmodern Take on James Bond

The new James Bond movie Spectre makes a satisfying final chapter to the four-film saga of Daniel Craig’s 007, even if that saga turns out to be less than the sum of its parts. But it was a fascinating journey, wasn’t it? Instructive in all sorts of ways. In a world of “franchises,” tentpoles,” “reboots,” and “universes” (A world of universes? “If You Move in a Hasty Manner, I’ll Put a Bullet in You”: S. Craig Zahler on Bone Tomahawk

With its careful widescreen compositions and painterly period-motivated lighting, Bone Tomahawk possesses a classical visual style that belies its pulpy genre mash-up logline of western-cum-cannibal horror film. There are no elaborate tracking shots in the feature debut of writer/director S. Craig Zahler. No Steadicam moves, no booming Technocranes, See more »
