Platoon (1986)
Oliver Stone's Masterpiece
The Plot:
A young recruit in Vietnam faces a moral crisis when confronted with the horrors of war and the duality of man.
Platoon is one of the most emotional and moving war films ever created. The whole cast is believable and give amazing performances. Including Charlie Sheen. This movie shows perfectly the horrors of war and the duality of man. This film deserved its Oscar for best feature film of 1987. Before i end this review, i have to talk about the cinematography by Robert Richardson. To me, everything he touches becomes gold. From platoon to Hugo, from Hugo to Django Unchained. It is filmed beautifully and it's officially my favorite Oliver Stone film.
Platoon gets a 10/10.
The Thing (1982)
Gruesome and Disgusting. I lOVE it!
This is probably one of the most gruesome and disgusting films in existence. And i love it! The film is about scientists in the Antarctic who are confronted by a shape-shifting alien that assumes the appearance of the people that it kills. This is Carpenter's most powerful and bone- chilling films. There is so much suspense that i could barely hold still. The entire cast is perfect. Including the dog. One of the best if not the best dog performance in existence. The effects are undoubtedly the highlight of the film. The best use of practical effects i've ever seen. If your a horror fan or just a movie lover in general, then i guess you have seen this movie by now. But if you haven't, then i implore to watch it right away!
The Thing gets a 10/10.
Ant-Man (2015)
Marvel Does it Again With Ant-Man!
I finally saw one of my most anticipated movies of 2015! That being Marvel's Ant-Man! Ant-Man is everything i wanted it to be! It was funny, quirky and emotional. Paul Rudd is great as Scott Lang/Ant-Man. A role he was born to play! Michael Douglas was FINALLY great again! I was so happy seeing him shine on the big screen. Let's hope returns in future Marvel films! I wasn't pleased with the main villain tho. The Yellowjacket. He didn't really came across as believable. And his transformation to villain just felt forced. Overall, it's a solid film and i enjoyed it quite a lot. Ant-Man get's a 9/10. Ant-Man might be my favorite Marvel film to date!
Jurassic World (2015)
Jurassic World (2015) Was a Fun Spectacular Ride
I finally saw Jurassic World a hour ago and i was pleasantly surprised. I had a lot fun watching this movie and i wasn't bored once. It's also the first time i ever saw a Jurassic Park film on the big screen. I loved the easter eggs to the original Jurassic Park (1993) and the way they used the theme song. I got goosebumps when i heard the theme rushing through my ears. Chris Pratt is great. He has proved himself that he can be a badass. Now i'm totally up for him as the new Indiana Jones. I have one big nitpick. And that is, i was let down by the effects. The effects looked amazing but i was let down that they didn't really use practical effects like in the original and The Lost World. And there was no Jeff Goldblum cameo! Anyway, i had a great time so i'll be giving this movie a 8/10.
Jurassic Park (1993)
Jurassic Park movie review
For my very first review, I wanted to do something special. I wanted to review a movie that is very special to me. And perhaps this is a bit cliché, But I have chosen jurassic park.
As a child I had jurassic park on v/h/s. And I watched the film almost every day, I just could not get enough. The effects, the soundtrack, the characters and of course the dinosaurs, are all awesome. As a child I was fascinated by dinosaurs. And when I saw the movie for the first time, I was just sucked into the world of this great park.
The effects are still as good as the effects of today, maybe even better. And the score by John Williams is fantastic, it's my whole childhood in one song.
it might have a few flaws but if you watch the movie you really don't notice it.
To sum up the film, it's a film for young and old. that takes you back to your childhood. when you thought dinosaurs were the coolest things in the world. and actually still are.
I give the movie a 10/10.
