Kanuch is among a group of 71college football players across the nation whose nominations were announced today. From that group, a judging panel will select two 11-player teams representing all of the college football subdivisions.

The student athletes nominated for this prestigious honor embody the true spirit of teamwork and giving back through selfless contributions and commendable acts of kindness according to the group.

Here's a look at some of Kanuch's good work:

-weekly mentor to students at East Hartford Middle school

-mentors young kids in Hartford inner city schools

-helped organize a bikeathon in Hartford to raise money for UConn alumnus Emeka Okafor's One Million African Lives which is working to stop the spread of HIV/Aids in Africa.

The two 11-player teams one from the Football Bowl Subdivision (I-A) and another, combined team, from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision, will be announced in September.
