Challenge #13 in the The natural world around you series. Hosted by Ohmyhi.
Challenge has finished
To go more specifically into the Mammalia class this challenge will be focused on Rodents from around the world. Each person will be allowed to submit one photo of a rodent and must provide a general location of where the photo was taken. This will help ID the specific animal, if you know common and or scientific name feel free to provide it. This challenge is for rodents ONLY if you have any questions about if the animal you've photographed is a rodent please feel free to message me. The simple and plain definition of a rodent is: mammals of the order Rodentia, which are characterized by a single pair of unremittingly growing incisors in each of the upper and lower jaws The idea for judging this challenge is to see who has the best photo for being able to ID this specific individual.

These are yellow bellied Marmots that were photographed on the side of the road on Mt. Evans in Colorado. A marmot is a rodent that physically resembles a beaver, except for the tail. It hibernates in the winter and thus emerges in the spring a much thinner animal.
