Very cool, a fine first encounter for a new camera! :-) On my system I right-click on the browser photo, select Copy URL then use the insert picture from web drop-down selection near the right side ...

I still need to process some of my shots to boost contrast and cut noise.. but here's one soon after the moon rose over Mt. St.Helens from our yard. The moon was so dark when it came up I didn't ...

'tis a shame that Pentax' pixel shift and AA simulation were not enough for an innovation nod. The NX1 has some excellent and unique features though.
-
Very cool - for now my Pentax Q and 1.25" eyepiece adapter will do, but it's a great niche market to capture!
-
The f/2 and 2.8 zooms really are overwhelming on the small body - great lenses with the NX1 but definitely not small.

Very nice! The 55-300 was my lens choice too, very handy to go from wider views to great closeups. I had my K-r on a tripod with 400mm shooting every 15 seconds, but my aim was about one screen ...

Not just yes, but yes with stabilization :-) unlike Canon or others!

I had wondered if that was Alta Peak. In early October 2002 I looped it, x-c from Pear Lake toward Elizabeth Pass then down the Hi Sierra Trail. Incredible vistas in that area!

It's also missing a screw drive and an aperture coupling, which would rule out 98% of their lenses. The folks at pentax forums assume this isn't the fully baked body being suggested. Good eye...

Very cool, rekindled some happy memories! Which summit did you reach with the metal box on top?

I need to be trigger happy more often :-) nicely done! An osprey circled us yesterday..we're 800 feet up and nowhere near water, thought it would be a redtail at first! Very pretty for just ...

Great images! No denying that Pentax and that 20Mpx sensor are a great match, as I'm learning with a K-s1.

If you are persuaded by what you've tried, no need to humor us with careful reshooting - I would think some other matters might need attending to in preparation for the trip! Personally I found ...

I recently picked up a Sigma 18-50 f/2.8-4.5 HSM for $96 and DAL 55-300 for $104, and several nice bodies can be found for under $300. Like the new white K-S1 I bought for $276 for example, ...

It lacks many features that Pentax users now take for granted: WR, 2 control dials, interval timed stills, interval to movie and such. It wasn't meant for those already owning Pentax but for ...

Mine was the Quantaray, which I believe was the DL relabeled.

So we shouldn't expect to hear from you for a few days :-) Enjoy the new gear!

I wince to see '15mm' and 'junking' in the same sentence :-| but it isn't for everyone. I have one now and think it's a fine fit for me, but I've also enjoyed fisheye WA so I'm not typical. When ...

Very nice images. Which 100mm is this though? I really like my smc-M f2.8 not-macro, but more users have the macro models. Come to think of it they have several of those too in M and A f4, FA ...
