Adversary

F-5N Tiger II

PMA-226’s Adversary Team is responsible for the overall management of two Adversary platforms: F-5 N/F and F-16 A/B as well as three associated maintenance contracts supporting these platforms. The F-5 Adversary program consists of 44 F-5N/Fs operating out of Naval Air Station (NAS) Fallon, Nevada; NAS Key West, Florida; and Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona. The F-16 program consists of 14 F-16A/Bs attached to Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, (NSAWC) NAS Fallon, Nevada. The Adversary mission supports Red Air Carrier Air Wing Training and Graduate Level Air Combat Training. The Adversary team manages a maintenance labor contract supporting the three F-5 squadrons, an F-5 depot maintenance contract and a maintenance contract supporting NSAWC's multiple aircraft platform organization.


Contracted Air Services (CAS)

Contract Air Support aircraft

PMA-226 manages the acquisition of Contracted Air Services (CAS) and coordinates airworthiness assessments of contract aircraft and operators to ensure safe, timely and efficient support to the USN/USMC; meeting missions that range from adversary training support to test support and aerial refueling.

 


 Foreign Military Sales (FMS)

PMA-226 supports Out-of-U.S. Navy Inventory (OOI) aircraft, managing six aircraft types for eight FMS customer countries.

Sentry UAV

PMA-226 supports the Sentry Unmanned Aerial Vehicle the NPS’s Center for Interdisciplinary Remotely Piloted Aircraft Studies (CIRPAS).

U.S. Navy Test Pilot School Aircraft

 

NU-1B Otter / U-6A Beaver

The NU-1B Otter is used to train test pilots in low speed aircraft handling characteristics. The U-6A Beaver is used to tow aircraft for the X-26 Frigate sailplane.

The X-26A is a two-seat, high performance glider used to train pilots in flying qualities at the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School at Patuxent River, Md. These aircraft are used to increase the students' knowledge of the dynamics of flight.
