The halo is distracting and unnecessary. Maybe try processing it so the entire image is exposed like the haloed part. Or if a vignette is a must, make it more subtle with a larger gradient and much less exposure difference.

Other than that, nice photo.

Yeah, I see the halo as well. But I think some here are being a little too critical. SLIGHT halo or not, I love the photo.

Way over-processed in my humble opinion. In my eyes I saw the result of someone tweaking those sliders in LR instead of a cool surfing photo. The capture is great though!

I agree with you...pic looks too overcooked...that said it definitely looks better at full size then the smaller downsized pic you see above.

Nice shot, although the VII one is much better imo. The processing looks way too much here, like a halo as Conan mentioned. Does the pink/red surfer girl actually need dodging and burning to stand out from this background?

My monitor is not calibrated, perhaps that's the problem.

I am not sure what halo you are referring to. It looks about right in my monitor. I just calibrated my monitor.

Has nothing to do with calibration/profiling, an over-processed photo looks the same on all monitors. Look at her right side (to the left on the photo), the arm especially: you've got the skin tone, the sky, and a wide glowing white zone in between. That's what happens when sliders are pushed too much, stuff like contrast, clarity, sharpness etc, and that's what's called "halo".

The shot is pretty good in general, it's just over-cooked in post-processing.
