Fuji X-T1 vs Olympus OM-D E-M1 Kit Comparison

Hi,

I currently have the option of choosing between the following:

Olympus OM-D E-M1

12-40 Pro

40-150 Pro

60mm Macro

Total cost (brand new) EUR3,000.00

or

Fuji X-T1

I come from a Sony RX100 and although I love the camera, I am at the point where I need interchangeable lenses. I am interested in macro.

I see it as follows:

The Fuji X-T1 has a better sensor and therefore better image quality.

However, I do not want to buy a camera and get stuck with a ‘standard range’ as I could just use a RX100. I am interested in more extraordinary pictures, e.g. macro. I would love to do some street photography without people noticing too much and imagine the 40-150 pro to be a nice choice for that. I also travel quite a lot and could use it for wildlife. Size is definitely a consideration as the main purpose will be travel.

All in all, I feel that the OM-D is a better system for me right now but I am unsure how the two will develop. I hope the M43 will continue to exist and I will not make this large investment just to find out all my gear will be worthless a few years down the road. I am leaning towards the OM-D system just because these things always remain a risk and by the time the Fuji system is developed, a full frame mirrorless competitor with serious lenses may arise.

Do you have any thoughts?

Also, I do not have much knowledg on the Fuji lenses. I know they do not offer a real competitor for the Olympus 60mm macro but what about the other two? Which lenses would come closest and what is their price? I am a European so please keep in mind that 3K for the kit above is a decent price here (even though it may not be in Australia or the US).
