Bertoli Mitchell arranges the sale of Pickering and Chatto to Taylor and Francis

London, UK (March 2015)

The name of Pickering & Chatto has a long history in the book trade dating back to the early nineteenth century, but its current status as an important academic publisher dates from its refounding by Lord Rees-Mogg in 1983. Since this time Pickering & Chatto (Publishers) Limited has built a distinguished reputation as a publisher of critical editions, primary source collections and monographs in many fields within the humanities and social sciences. The present list contains some 750 titles, many of them authoritative multi-volume sets, and it currently publishes c. 150 new titles annually.

Acting as advisor to the shareholders, Bertoli Mitchell helped to structure, lead negotiations and manage the process from initiation to completion. The Company was acquired by Taylor & Francis in March 2015.
