Really puzzled on why they didn't offer FF from the get go.

Is it that much hard to make a lense

It is spelled "lens". Lense is a silly merriam webster error.

for FF mount?

You are posting in a Canon SLR forum.

The lens is designed with mirrorless flange distances in mind (not even the Leica and Samsung flange distances, no, the shorter E/X/EOS M mounts.

See how close the back element is to the mount for those cameras? There is no way that lens design can fit on a DSLR with a much bigger flange distance.

Also, this lens is designed for a APS-C image circle. The weight shows that clearly, it only weighs 385 grams. Compare that to a Canon EF 50mm f1.2 L USM or a Sigma 50mm f1.4 Art.

I have their excellent 35mm 1.4 which competes with Sigma 1.4 art no problem (I find the sigma somewhat sharper but this is splitting hairs).

Their 35mm f1.4 is designed with the flange distance of a Nikon DSLR in mind, and with the image circle for FF in mind.

RIght I'm just saying that Samyang should've made a FF option.
