Judge Jeanine Pirro delivered a riveting monologue on her Fox News Channel program, "Justice with Judge Jeanine," Saturday night, Jan. 5, 2013. Her eloquent remarks were directed to The Journal News in White Plains, N.Y., the newspaper that published a list of legal gun owners and their addresses.
The Journal News utilized an interactive map similar to what is used to warn people of sexual predators. What gave her scathing remarks extra potency was the fact that Judge Jeanine Pirro is a gun owner, and her name and address are on that map.
In what may be the most amazing speech ever delivered on cable news, Judge Jeanine Pirro displayed why she has the reputation and standing in the legal community that she has today. You can view the remarks in the attached video.
Judge Jeanine Pirro began the show by pointing out that The Journal is on lockdown, not answering questions despite their own hounding of sources. She then discussed the various people who will no doubt be affected by the irresponsible publication of their private information.
In many situations, divulging someone‘s location is a danger in itself. There are police officers, crime victims, witnesses, battered spouses, and many others who are more vulnerable just because their once-hidden location is now public. She explained that she had spent her career putting bad guys away as a district attorney and actually sentencing them as a judge, and now her personal information is available to anyone who might not have been happy with her verdict!
Front Page Mag has a story about how prison guards are being threatened with this information. Inmates are approaching them and letting them know that they know where they live!
Inmates in local prisons have approached guards to say they know their home addresses, Rockland County Sheriff Lou Falco told the news conference.
“I don’t want to just request — I want to demand — that the Journal News get those names, and that map, off that website,” Rockland County Clerk Paul Piperato said.
Judge Pirro’s elegantly-delivered remarks began with a cold calmness and escalated to a brilliant fury. She proceeded to explain how the Journal News pursued a story with no regard to personal privacy, but that now they have taken shelter behind closed doors and armed guards. This preposterous turn of events is beyond belief. She is quite correct in her facts, though. The New York Times reports that The Journal News has hired armed guards:
But an editor at the West Nyack office told the local police that the newspaper had received “a large amount of negative correspondence” related to the publication of the map, according to a police report highlighted by The Rockland County Times on Tuesday. The police report said that e-mails received did not contain threats and that armed guards from a private security firm had not reported any problems at the office.
Judge Jeanine Pirro, with a Cheshire cat smile, indicated that she knew the names and addresses of these Journal News people and their families. She had worked with them in her professional capacity for many years. In her own very smooth way, she then remarked that she was taking the high road because her mother had raised her to consider consequences of her actions.
She also said that she feared for The Journal News employees and their safety. Although Judge Jeanine Pirro would not release the information, it is available through bloggers that have been publishing the offending journalists’ information. They have done this in response to their own invasion of privacy at the hands of The Journal News.
Judge Jeanine poignantly asked what The Journal News intended to do when one of these people was harmed. She made an important point later in the show that those who do not have weapons are now extra vulnerable when the criminals can check ahead of time to see if they are armed. The guests on her show discussed that criminals can also use this map to actually plan an entrance to a home.
Be sure and watch Justice Jeanine Pirro as she demonstrates what she is all about. You will be impressed.
