Important examination application information
Potential applicants for the Membership and Fellowship examinations are advised that the College will be moving to electronic applications in the Spring of 2015.
The first examination will be the Membership Part A for June. Applicants should note that there will be a fixed window of application - there will be no opportunity to apply via paper applications and there will be no allowance for late applications.
Schools of emergency medicine have been informed so that they can support applicants.
The fully completed application forms must be submitted, at the latest, on the closing date by 5.00pm (GMT). Any application forms received after this will not be accepted.

*The Part A examination will be held simultaneously in India, Singapore and Oman.
The closing date for FRCEM and MRCEM B & C resit applications will sometimes be different to those quoted above. Candidates will be notified of the closing date when the results are published.
Candidates who wish to sit the examinations must send in the intention to sit form for the FRCEM. If the intention to sit form has not been submitted for the appropriate sitting the examination application form will not be accepted.
FRCEM SAQ Examinations (Critical Appraisal and Clinical)
The Critical Appraisal and Clinical SAQs are held on the same day.
Before every sitting we invite each Deanery to apply to host these examinations locally.
We will email candidates asking where they would like to sit the SAQ examinations (subject to availability) approximately four weeks before the examinations.
MRCEM Examinations - Overseas Centres
Any candidate who wishes to sit the examination in an overseas centre must contact the relevant administrator (see details below):

Overseas Examinations
The College runs Membership Part A examinations overseas (India, Singapore and Oman) in collaboration with our overseas Emergency Medicine Colleges and organisations. These are scheduled for the same dates as the UK examinations. Overseas candidates should complete the same application forms and fees and contact the overseas center to pay any additional local fees.
Examination Fees
MRCEM
- Part A MCQ - £310.00
- Part B Short answer question paper - £305.00
- Part C Objective Structured Clinical Examination - £440.00
FRCEM
Fee for first time applicants:
- All parts of the examination - £1,475.00 (£500.00 deposit already paid must be deducted, therefore balance required with application form is £975.00). If the Critical Appraisal SAQ has already been passed the fee of £240.00 must also be deducted.
Fees for each section of the FRCEM examination:
- Clinical SAQ - £300.00
- Critical appraisal SAQ - £240.00
- CTR viva - £220.00
- Management viva - £295.00
- OSCE - £420.00
