100-400 in spring?

I do not disagree with you. If my priority was BIF or I shot a significant amount of photos with a long lens, I would want something better and faster than the 100-300 that I used when I went on safari. While I got some very good photos with the 100-300, generally speaking it is an OK lens, nothing more nothing less. If I want a sharp, faster, excellent long lens, I do not see any m43 lens currently offered. While I have some hope for the 100-400, I am not very optimistic that it will even come close to approaching the quality of the Nikon lens that you are using.

I have one additional thought to share with you. When I was in Kauai several months ago, I met a photo enthusiast who enjoyed shooting photos of surfers. He had a 600 f4 lens. It is far heavier and more expensive than your 300. He shot with a D4S. I would be very interested to see his top photos. Here is a photo of him.
