100-400 in spring?

I'm honestly not sure why you are in this thread. You are clearly not interested in M43 with this attitude, so maybe you should go to a FF CaNikon forum where you will be among likeminded people.

As others have stated, the F6.3 IS F6.3 in terms of light gathering capability, and while it is more in terms of DoF, for MOST people it is an advantage to have deeper DoF at these focal lengths, otherwise the whole subject will not be in focus. Also, as others have said, shooting photos with a narrow DoF is not indicative of someone being a good photographer, whether someone may believe that..

For the times when I do want to have sufficiently shallow DoF, I am quite happily shooting with my PL Nocticron 1.2 or Panasonic 35-100 2.8. Between the fact that these are pretty fast, and my understanding of how to achieve the necessary DoF with technique, I am very satisfied.
