They used to shoot with SONY A7S, wonder if this was shot with the same camera.

In DPreview's review, I think they still mentioned the rolling shutter. Also, they pointed out that the images are slightly (0.5 stop) noisier so there is a noise penalty as well.

IQ wise it is fantastic and with OIS, it is my go to lens for video, but it is not f1.4, which makes a huge difference in halfing the ISO.

But for this trip they have chosen to pack the best gears they have. May be this is a paid job or they consider this their once in a life time photo vacation and they do not want to compromise. ...

By "original" I meant the one in the very first post from OP, labeled "extensively PP."
-
I like the original one better because it draws my eye directly to the stature. In this version it shows too much of the background, which does not add much to the composition (beauty of the ...

For family snaps, I found nothing wrong with these photos. Indeed in good light and if you don't care about shallow DOF, you don't really need a large sensor camera. In low light and in harsh ...
-
But the OP also noticed this :"Disabling OIS does not solve the problem." So it does not seem to be just an OIS issue. Another factor came to my mind was the weight of the gear but I assume the ...

By definition SS is caused by the shutter slap in the camera so this is a camera-specific problem, but a lens one. I thus do not understand why you saw it with one lens but not the other lens. ...

If your goal is to shoot under candle light and/or generally indoors at night, consider a Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens. What is the most useful attribute for a camera to do street photography? IMOP, size, ...

I wish there were more "portrait" pictures to tell us how well the GX8 renders skin tone, which is challenging for most cameras. I also wish that when taking pictures of people, dpreview, and...

It is also a great reminder that people do not need an ultra wide to make good landscape photos.

One issue with your comparison is that the two cameras were using different lenses so the resolution difference can be partially impacted by the lens, not just the sensor. The V3 works quite well ...

You meant more people are buying Olympus cameras? Why? If true, some soul-searching from Panasonic may help.
-
How about those from Olympus? As a still shooter? For paying a little bit more, you can get OMD-MK II. You can pay less to get OMD and EM-10.. As a still shooter, the lack of SS and better ...

While EFC is absent from some cameras, it is also present in many cameras. Almost all current Olympus cameras have it so I am not sure if the patent deters anyone to use it.

Since the debacle of E-P5, and to some degrees SONY's A7R, people will be watching for SS, and not be able to address it is just inexcusable, no matter how SS may impact the end users. The sale ...
