Perhaps. But the keyring with built-in LED was hard to beat price-wise (two euro) so I started with that.

Seems to work well enough with my turntable although it is slightly more complicated to capture the right moment than I guess it is with a real scope.

No matter how you did it, aA long as the resulting line is about 80-90 pixels long at1/25, the results should be pretty muomparable. Your line definetely looks good, I could place it straight into my excel table!
