Sony A7xx cameras vs Canon 6D high ISO performance
20 hours ago

I am a Sony fanboy so much that I rarely read any comparisons; but, the other day I had a look at this article BSI Boss? Sony Alpha 7R II added to studio scene and I read a couple of comments about how great the inexpensive, oldish Canon 6D performs against the Sony "super star" cameras, so I had a look myself

Canon 6D vs Sony A7xx cameras at ISO 12800

I was surprised, I found that the high ISO performance of the Canon 6D was at least as good as the much more expensive hyper-super Sony cameras, and (much) better than Sony A7.

Honestly, I'd never buy a Canon FF camera (I cannot live without the number of mirrorless features: EVF, tilting screen, focus peaking, tilt-shift adapters, and so on and forth), but I simply don't understand why we, Sony enthusiasts, raving about the superiority of Sony technology when actually Canon's oldish technology is at least as good and more affordable?

Where is the catch? Am I missing something?

I'd appreciate the explanation from you knowledgeable and more experienced Sony friends here.

Miki

For fun and relaxation here is a tilted photo just taken from my office window with a Minolta 28mm/f2 with MD-NEX tilt adapter on a Sony A5100.
