An Under the Dome Community
Thursday 10:00 PM on CBS
Well, it’s almost over. Our quest for answers, our weekly summer (hate)watching, our journey into the secrets of the writers room, our wondering why the higher beings made us watch it and also a great base for so many ideas, thoughts and questions we could answer in posts will end. I have done a few posts about Under the Dome over these three years and this will be my last.

Where all the other posts tried to be serious about subjects that were not serious at all, this one in fact is. Next week, we have the season, series and dome finale. The dome will come down, many questions about its origin and power will be answered and we have two groups of residents engage in a final conflict that some won’t survive. In this CBS announcement someone forgot that there are also some aliens involved, but this is ‘Under the Dome’-logic so I guess they are just disappear or drop dead at the start of the finale.

It leaves us not only with the questions who is going to die, who is going to survive and who will be something different (we had a few of these), but more important with the question who we want to survive of who we want to die. We can still dream about it until the finale.

It has never been a subject of discussion, but Under the Dome has been a very lethal series for its cast. I do not think there is one series that had so many of the actors die. As far as I can see, except for the people in the poll, every character that has been in more than three episodes had died. And let’s not forget the huge amount of red shirt people from Chester’s Mill and the soldiers from Aktion. We need to remember them and especially sheriff Linduuhhh, who was only one of the many sheriffs that died. In the end they just gave the badge to Junior and some time after that the position just disappeared. The (main actor) dead started with sheriff Duke’s failing pacemaker that burst out of his body, a result of being too close to the barrier (something we never saw back). That was a great and original one, just like sheriff’s Linduhhh’s squashing.

This week we lost Dava, Hektor, Christine, some Aktion soldiers and about 23 (I counted them) elder people who were led into the lake. With real ‘Under the Dome’-logic, there are only 23 elder in a town of 2000. But if you look closely at the ‘elder’, you can see that they obviously did not have enough elder extra’s as there are some younger people at the end of the line.

In the end (that is now), we are left with just a few characters that we know. Except for sweet Hunter and Lily, all have been part of the story since day one (remember, just four weeks ago).

Personally I had a huge crush on Julia when the series started and I really wanted Big Jim to die, but my opinion has changed a bit over time.

And as there are so few people left, I will ask two (both) questions as the may differ per person. But before we go to the questions, let’s take a minute of and think about the joy the series has given us over the last three year. May the dome rest in peace.

We could also do like Norrie and make sure some of them die.
