Kina Well thank you for this video on Green Rating Systems, that's exactly what I was looking for!
Terry Sweeney So should 6-month renters be subject to some kind of occupancy tax? Or even 90-days? Obviously City Hall thinks so. I couldn't really tell from your comment where you come down on the topic.
Resurgent phoenix This would seem to affect people who may want to rent for six months as opposed to 90 days. Some people have two residents and live in each six months of the year.
Toby An interesting turn of events. It is often the case that the incumbent resorts to the law to protect the status quo. The times they are a changing.....
Terry Sweeney I've got some friends, whose names and location I'll omit, who cleared $20,000 from their Airbnb rental in 2013. I didn't ask, and they didn't say, but I'm pretty sure they didn't pay a cent of tax...

kq4ym Governments will often get between property owners and the general public under the theory that some regulation is needed to protect consumers. Maybe it's rightly so in San Francisco and other cities...
NewDream I must have missed that part, Toby!
Toby Wow, now theres a trip down memory lane and what a weird video...hard to know what the message really was there...including the very odd interlude where someones girlfriend seems to be tied to pole...
Terry Sweeney Interesting hypothesis... but I had heard the decrease was due to the growth of pay-per-view cable TV events.
But the sociologists may have it wrong. ;-P
NewDream Swings and roundabouts indeed. Here's an old song that fits, I think.

Resurgent phoenix My view of the cloud based online system is it not only allows the reporting of problems more accurately, but can route them to the proper department. The data can be tracked, what, when captured,...
kq4ym It does seem like a great idea. But, in the end will the results end up like traditional "help" systems in government? I've spent my share of hours trying to get to just the right person in city...
darry111 Unfortunately the video is not available anymore. As for the size of the program, we can't expect to see $1 homes everywhere we turn, that wouldn't make any sense and frankly it wouldn't help anybody...
