Course Description
This two-day, train-the-trainer workshop, designed for health profession educators, aims to disseminate the knowledge and tools necessary to successfully implement QI and safety education in undergraduate medical education (UME), graduate medical education (GME), continuing medical education (CME), and allied health schools. This workshop was made possible through the generous support of the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation.

Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

• Summarize basic theory and tools used in quality improvement (QI) projects.
• Select appropriate methods to conduct a needs assessment of learners.
• Choose learner-centered teaching methods to produce active learning environments.
• Integrate quality improvement methods or safety projects with existing curricula.
• Create or choose assessment methodologies that measure results of QI training.
• Identify methods to facilitate learner engagement in quality improvement/safety programs.
• Prepare and implement a plan to produce quality improvement/patient safety training.
