Closed captions are defined as timed text with "Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing" (SDH); subtitles are defined as timed text with transcription/translation of dialogue only.

To submit captions and to notify CreateSpace that captions are required, please email timedtextfiles@CreateSpace.com with your caption files attached. The accepted file formats are SCC (Scenarist Closed Caption), SMPTE-TT (RP-2052) and DFXP Full/TTML (Timed Text Markup Language).
All files must be named with a specific filename in order to process correctly. There are 5 basic parts to the filename:

Your "caption type" must match your video file's frame rate. If your frame rate is 2997 you must specify between Drop Frame (DF) and Non-Drop Frame (NDF) timecode.
