Competent Swedish authorities

Under EU regulations on sanctions, the following government agencies have been appointed as competent authorities in Sweden in the application of international sanctions. Their tasks include processing applications for permits and exemptions. The description of the sanctions against a certain country provide a detailed account of their responsibilities. Some agencies may be responsible for other issues that stem directly from the sanctions without having the formal status as competent authority. These agencies are also listed here. As with other laws and regulations, the police authorities and the public prosecutor monitor compliance with the sanctions.
