What’s Working: Public Health Progress since the Haiti 2010 Earthquake
This month, CDC’s Vital Signs explores the changing demographics in heroin use and increasing heroin overdoses. Conducted with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), this study provides a comprehensive approach to addressing the heroin epidemic.
Heroin use has increased across the United States among men and women, most age groups, and all income levels. Some of the greatest increases occurred in demographic groups with historically low rates of heroin use: women, the privately insured, and people with higher incomes.
