Fabulous fun, nice back-door to other content!
This app is one of the top ten out here. Easy to use too. I've listened to this broadcast for years but lost NPR reception out here, so it was podcast to computer to mp3 player. This was OK for a while, until it was necessary to remove some tunes to make it fit. Now this buffers and streams! Love it.
There is also a back-door in this app. You can tap more (bottom right) tap a category and open a whole new world of content. Sometimes I've gotten to this conduit different ways, tap podcast on main screen, or more from this vendor, or tap more (bottom right) -podcast -Top Ten (center tab top of screen)
All of the podcasts I use cache download so I can work the farm out of range without skipping a beat.
This may be the first app that I have no requests for improvements. Hooray!
Laughter truly is the best medicine!
I'm a graduate student in Clinical Psychology currently entering a sparse job market with exorbitant student loan debt weighing heavy on my mind. I don't mind sharing that my anxiety level these days is worse than many of my current clients (fyi - the irony doesn't escape me).
However, when my spirits begin to approach despondency, there is no better therapy in the world for me than the laugh feature of this app - reminds me of the joy that life is. (legal disclaimer: does not replace therapy; get/stay in therapy for actual help - I need a job after all!).
Now I will never miss this great show.
Who needs prozac if you can listen to Car Talk; if after an hours of listening to Car Talk you don't have a smile on your face than you are no fun. This app now enables you to listen on your ipod, iphone or ipad. You can now access podcast and can listen to shows that you might have missed or want to replay for your friends. I love this app and I love the show. It is a must for any Car Talk fan and anyone else who wants a smile on your face and joy in your world.
