Almost a decade after witnessing his African American father being murdered by the police, Toncruz, 16, has become a world-class hacker within the realm of the deep web, where he is able to keep tabs on the corruption of civilian policing and the abuse of surveillance by private and government groups. While in the midst of hacking the usual interfaces and video chatting with anonymous overseas co-conspirators, he is led to a whole new layer of deeply hidden information, landing him the biggest breakthrough imaginable. A high school boy's dream and worst nightmare. Amidst a seemingly inescapable labyrinth where foes and friends are one and the same, Toncruz meets a mysterious Argentinian woman called Josephine Romanoff. She takes him under her wing and shows him that she is also a "virtual revolutionary" in her own merit.
