For the first time in years, someone other than Jim Nabors performed “Back Home Again in Indiana” to start the Indy 500. Instead, a cappella group Straight No Chaser kicked off the race with their performance of the classic.

Nabors sang the song for the first time in 1972, performing it dozens of times over the years. Last year, he announced that his 2014 performance would be his last, so the Indy 500 enlisted Straight No Chaser for this year’s race. Founded in 1996 at Indiana University in Bloomington, Straight No Chaser is made up of 10 Indiana U. alumni.

Watch Straight No Chaser’s performance at the Indy 500 below. The group has also released a studio version of the song on YouTube and iTunes.
