During the flashback to Foggy and Matt's early law practising days, they are seen representing a company called Roxxon Energy Corporation. In the Marvel comics universe Roxxon often appears as a morally questionable company that is sometimes engaged in illegal activities. See more »

Quotes

Foggy Nelson: Me and you, pal. We're gonna have big, fancy offices one day, with steel and glass and chairs you don't even know how to sit in. Murdock and Nelson, attorneys at law!
Matt Murdock: Nelson and Murdock. Sounds better.
Foggy Nelson: You think?
Matt Murdock: Yeah, trust me. I can't see worth shit, but my hearing's spectacular.
Foggy Nelson: Me and you, pal... We're gonna do this. We're gonna be the best damn avocados this city has ever seen.
[both laugh]
Matt Murdock: Best damn avocados.

They might not travel across the world to vanquish a ring, but this is some serious bromance

Unmasking a vigilante then finding that he's your best friend is a revelation that will make anyone reflect on how authentic the relationship really is. That's really the gist of the episode as Foggy and Murdock try to resolve the spectacularly untimely discovery. The two of them have been depending on each other in friendship and work, Foggy is a constant companion for Murdock and he doesn't accept the secret very well.

After going through most of their adult lives together, Murdock and Foggy are near inseparable. It's pretty nice to see their chronicles, from collage to early days of being a lawyer showcased in brighter tone. Murdock needs someone as an anchor to prevent him from slipping to the night. Unfortunately his moonlighting job is the very contrast of Foggy's nature and the way one party can tell a lie of the other is a test for any relationship.

The actors do a great job in defining the connection. While the flashbacks are shown with a touch of lighter tone, the talk they have about Murdock's secret is anything but. Charlie Cox delivers good wide range of emotion. It's not the first Murdock has shown raw emotion, although this is the first time he does so in a rather fragile way.

As Murdock recovers, Fisk also deals with his problems. The fact that he's public and also involved in a romantic relationship might not be taken graciously by his colleagues. The woman who gives him strength to cope is now also the reason people see him as a liability, despite effort on his side to ensure his power. Considering the number of his allies is also dwindling this might be a bigger issue than he thinks.

Ben Ulrich's story is explained further, it's certainly sympathetic but probably not as resounding as Karen's progress on her investigation. In the end, Foggy finding the truth about Murdock might just be a serendipitous cathartic event, or might be not.
