Olivia Munn Joins ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Cast as Psylocke

Olivia Munn has joined the cast of “X-Men: Apocalypse,” signing on as Betsy Braddock, a.k.a. Psylocke.
Director Bryan Singer posted the news on Instagram on Monday.
Munn joins previously announced newcomer Lana Condor, who’s playing Jubilee, as well as returning stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult and Rose Byrne. Oscar Isaac and Kodi Smit-McPhee will also join the franchise.
Singer is directing the film from a script by Simon Kinberg, Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” is set to bow on May 27, 2016.

Last night, MTV held its annual Movie Awards despite the network having made only one film in the last two years (bet you didn't know MTV was responsible for Project Almanac), and as usual, it was a snoozefest. Disney released a new trailer for Marvel’s “Ant-Man” starring Paul Rudd on Monday. In the film, Rudd plays convicted con man Scott Lang, who is given a second chance by Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). Pym recruits Lang to help stop the evil Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) from using the Ant-Man suit, which allows the wearer to shrink in size but increase in strength. The Griswolds are heading back to Walley World in this reboot of the 1983 film National Lampoon's Vacation. And it looks like one of their stops, intentionally or not, is in the Mojave Desert. The cast of Vacation, comprised of Ed Helms, Christina Applegate, along with their two on-screen sons, played by Skylar Gisondo and Steele Stebbins, was seen on the Mojave Desert set Wednesday filming. Eurydice “Eury” Davis, a talent agent whose clients included “Kill the Messenger” actress Jena Sims, “Ouija” actress Claudia Katz and “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor Christian Martin, died Wednesday, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office told TheWrap on Monday. She was 38. According to the coroner, Davis died of a gunshot wound to the head. Her manner of death has been identified as suicide by the coroner. Monday night’s Gotham is only useful as a place-holding declaration of intent. Which is to say: Nothing substantial happens in "Beasts of Prey" that won't happen at greater length next week. This is sadly typical of Gotham lately. Various important subplots are progressing, particularly Bruce Wayne's search for Reginald Payne and Fish Mooney's escape from the Dollmaker's island prison. But while last week's episode suggested that various characters are on their way to getting what they really want, tonight's episode makes it seem as if progress won't come to Gotham City without a lot of throat-clearing. So in an episode like "Beasts of Prey," it's tempting to say that the best subplots are the ones that show the most signs of narrative progress. Film and TV producer Mark Gordon will be recognized with the Tom Sherak Award at the Fulfillment Fund’s Stars 2015 benefit gala on October 14. The nonprofit is devoted to helping Los Angeles students overcome obstacles to achieve a college education. The 21st edition of the event will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Gordon is the founder of Citizens of the World charter schools and the former chairman of Teach for America Los Angeles. He was honored in January with the PGA’s Norman Lear Achievement Award. Gordon, who produced such films and TV shows as “Saving Private Ryan” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” recently launched an independent company with Entertainment One to finance and produce films and TV shows.
