12-40mm PRO and the 25mm F1.4, guess which one I'm using more?

I got into photography last year at Halloween.  I realized there is a huge divide over Prime vs. Zoom and being new, I didn't have an opinion either way.  I bought the 12-40mm PRO first.  I thought the four focal lengths provided were an excellent value (and it is).  I shot with this until Christmas when I switched over to the 25mm F1.4.  I needed something with a little more reach indoors and a fast prime was just the ticket.

Fast forward four months later.  I've switched out the lenses a dozen times and each time the 12-40mm just doesn't cut it for me.

When I put it on, I'm disappointed on its reach.  I seldom need anything wider than 17mm(35mm equivalent) so its widest setting of 12mm is wasted for me.  When I get out to 40mm (80mm equivalent) I find the lens too short and I really need 90mm or longer.

So, there it is folks.  I'm set on using the 25mm F1.4 as my go to lens.  I might possibly pickup the 45mm F1.8 for portrait sessions or maybe the 40-150mm for occasional birding or sports photography.

Has anyone else experienced this?
