How to achieve your fitness goals in 7 days

Push past your physical limits in just a week. Hello, new you!

How to achieve your fitness goals in 7 days

Monday

Listen to your language. Negative words such as “can’t” or “impossible” are a good indication of where you believe your limits are. Catch yourself when you hear these words and replace them with a positive attitude that says, “I can do anything.” Once your mind opens to possibility, your body will follow.

Tuesday

Be inspired. Read books or blogs about athletes who’ve achieved great things with their fitness, and let their motivation and positive energy give you a lift. Surround yourself with people who believe in themselves and in you. Support is vital when you’re pushing yourself in new ways.

Wednesday

Note down your goals. Classes at the gym, runs with friends and sessions with a personal trainer are great ways to be active and stretch your physical limits, but goals help to gear your mind towards something big. Fun runs, marathons and mountain treks give you a reason to train hard.

Thursday

Stay positive. Focus on your goals and achievements, not excuses. You’ll soon enjoy being outside your comfort zone and you may challenge yourself daily or weekly to try harder. Do what inspires you rather than what others think you should do, and the confidence will flow through the rest of your life.

Friday

Eat fit foods. Don’t let your training down by having a poor diet. Stick to foods that fuel your energy and make as many meals as possible. See a dietitian for a personalised eating plan that will bring out the best in your fitness, or look online for meal ideas that suit your training.

>>Stop the excuses and end a bad habit once and for all

Saturday

Sleep on it. Winding down at night will ensure you can enjoy a deep sleep, while aiming for at least six or seven hours’ sleep will prepare your body for peak physical performance. Try meditating to focus on achieving your goals, or try a meditation app at night before bed.

Sunday

Refresh your goals as often as you need to in order to ensure you’re always striving for bigger and better. Any limits in your mind only exist because you put them there, so make sure you dream big and celebrate each time you reach a goal, no matter how small that goal is. Anything is possible.
