Nonsense. Unless there is some context attached to the claim (e.g. are you printing that image, how big, what ISO has it been shot at, etc) that's a complete BS statement.

The differences are also not "huge", they are noticeable under certain circumstances, but the average joe on the street (and I'd say most photogs as well) would not be able to correctly identify an FX vs a DX image.
