Pitch Perfect 2 Clip: The Barden Bellas Aca-Battle with 90’s Hip Hop Jamz

10 hours ago | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Want a taste of what we’ve got to look forward to in not one, but two more Pitch Perfect movies? Catch Rebel Wilson doing her own rendition of A Tribe Called Quest's “Scenario" in the Pitch Perfect 2 clip that aired during the MTV Movie Awards last night. The sequel to the 2012 surprise hit isn’t due in theaters until May 15th, but apparently Wilson is already signed on for a third film. No word on whether or not Anna Kendrick and the rest of the Barden Bellas will be back, but if Pitch Perfect 2 opens as big as the original, I’d like to bet Universal will start revealing plans for round three soon enough.  As for the clip itself, as a big fan of the first film, I’m thrilled to hear the Bellas sing anything, but if I’m nitpicking, the shots here are, »

Cannes– Leading arthouse company Memento Films Intl. has acquired international sales rights to Josh Mond’s directorial debut “James White,” which premiered at Sundance and won the audience nod.

Pic is produced by Borderline Films, the company behind “Martha Marcy May Marlene,” and turns on James White, a troubled twenty-something whose hedonistic lifestyle in New York City gets turned upside down after his mother starts battling a serious illness.

Variety’s Brent Lang described “James White” as the “anti-‘Terms of Endearment.” “In Hollywood movies, death is often a beatific experience. In ‘James White,’ the edgy indie drama from Josh Mond, it’s filled with night sweats, moments of incontinence, hallucinations, and a few moments of grace,” wrote Lang.

James White” features critically-claimed performances from Christopher Abbott (“Girls”), Cynthia Nixon (“Sex & the City”) and rapper/actor Scott ‘KiD CuDi’ Mescudi (“Entourage”).

Daredevil Recap: “Cut Man”

1 hour ago | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

New episodic recaps of Daredevil post every Monday and Thursday. Read the recap of the premiere here. Daredevil’s “Cut Man” begins with Matt Murdock finding himself much the worse for wear, waking up bruised, bloodied, and beaten in an alleyway dumpster, only to be discovered by a frightened teenager. The teen brings Matt to the apartment of Claire (Rosario Dawson), a working nurse who is not that pleased with finding a masked, nearly dead man bleeding out on her apartment’s couch. Matt’s been busy, fighting Russian mobsters responsible for kidnapping a young boy from his beaten father, who are now on Daredevil’s tail. Claire, understandably, suggests that Matt be taken to a hospital and treated properly, only to be refused as Daredevil informs her that should he go to a hospital, “they” will kill every patient there in an attempt to get at him. Director Michelle MacLaren Quits 'Wonder Woman' Over Creative Differences

1 hour ago | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

With lots of chatter surrounding "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice," "Suicide Squad," and even "The Flash," which isn't due in cinemas until 2018, there has been a notable silence around "Wonder Woman" which is supposed to arrive in 2017. And that's even with Gal Gadot suited up and ready to roll in the movie, with her character due for a tease in 'Dawn Of Justice.' And things just got a bit more curious with news. THR reports that Emmy-award-winning filmmaker Michelle MacLaren ("Breaking Bad," "Game Of Thrones," "The Leftovers," "The Walking Dead") who landed the job last fall, has now exited the project. Good ol' "creative differences" are being chalked up for this one, those exact details aren't being given. It's definitely a blow to Warner Bros. who were specifically eyeing a female director for the job, and certainly landed an accomplished talent. It should be »

What Exactly Is John Connor In Terminator: Genisys?

1 hour ago | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

The release of a brand-spanking new trailer for Terminator: Genisys earlier today completely rejigged what we can expect from the blockbuster, especially when it comes to former franchise hero John Connor. That.s because the new version of the character isn.t quite as heroic as we all probably expected him to be - and now Jason Clarke has confirmed that he.s part machine, part human, and that this movie.s version of the resistance fighter is free in all the ways that previous incarnations have not been. Jason Clarke, who will be portraying John Connor in Terminator: Genisys, sat down to speak with Entertainment Weekly recently to provide further insight about his character, and in the process pretty much confirmed that he will defy expectations. Basically, the guy is a total wild card. The Australian actor explained, He.s full of possibilities now that he.s not fully »

Wonder Woman Loses Director Michelle MacLaren

1 hour ago | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Today in Really Disappointing News, Wonder Woman has lost its talented director Michelle MacLaren. THR is reporting that MacLaren, who has previously directed episodes of Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and Game of Thrones, has left the project over “creative differences”. In a statement, the studio said, “Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together.” [caption id="attachment_125378" align="alignright" width="350"] Image via Alex Ross[/caption] That’s a damn shame. MacLaren has clearly got the chops to handle drama and spectacle, and Wonder Woman was the highest-profile blockbuster to get a female director. Her filmography showed she could have been well-suited to the character, and Wonder Woman needs to be right since it will be the first blockbuster superhero movie featuring a female character if Warner Bros. sticks to its 2017 release (Marvel’s Captain Marvel isn’t due until 2018). I’m sure »
