NBC is upping its live musical game. The network on Monday announced that The Wiz will be its next live musical performance — with Cirque du Soleil boarding the project with plans to bring the show to Broadway in 2016. NBC's The Wiz, set for Thursday, Dec. 3, will again be executive produced by Sound of Music and Peter Pan duo Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, with Tony-winning director Kenny Leon attached to direct both the live event as well as the Broadway revival in 2016-17. Trevor Noah! You know Trevor Noah, the 31-year-old South African comedian who only made his first appearance on The Daily Show in December. The rumor had been going around all weekend and was confirmed by Comedy Central this morning. Noah, who speaks six languages, has been doing stand-up internationally for years, and his act tends to focus on issues of race and international relations. London — “Game of Thrones” star Maisie Williams is to make a guest appearance on the sci-fi series “Doctor Who.”
Williams recently starred in Carol Morley’s movie “The Falling” and docu-drama “Cyberbully.”
On her first day on set, Williams said: “I’m so excited to be working on ‘Doctor Who’ as it’s such a big and important part of British culture. I can’t wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we’ll be shooting not too far from my home town.”
Steven Moffat, lead writer and executive producer on “Doctor Who,” added: “It’s not possible to say too much about who or what she’s playing, but she is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways. This time he might just be out of his depth, and we know Maisie is going to give him exactly the right sort of hell. »

The CW’s proposed Arrow/Flash spinoff continues to expand its superhero roster, with Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill as the latest addition, our sister site Deadline reports.
